Open Enrollment for the 2015-16 academic year starts January 1, 2015 and ends February 28, 2015. The school will be accepting applications for grades K-6. If the number of applications submitted within this period of time exceeds the number of seats available for any grade level, a system generated, random lottery will be processed in order to determine who is offered a seat at the school. All applications submitted within the Open Enrollment period will have an equal opportunity for admission, regardless of whether they are submitted on the first day or the last day of Open Enrollment.

Applications for the 2014-15 school year will continue to be accepted through the end of the academic year. Applications submitted for the 2014-15 school year will not be valid, roll over, or be processed in the 2015-16 lottery. A new application must be submitted during the Open Enrollment period in order to be considered for a 2015-16 seat.

Enrollment Information Session

The following Enrollment Information Sessions have been scheduled to provide parents with enrollment information about Charter Schools USA and more specifically about Downtown Miami Charter School. All Information Sessions will begin promptly at the scheduled time.

  • February 18, 2015 at 6:30 pm
  • March 6, 2015 at 9:00 am
  • March 17, 2015 at 9:00am

Lottery Process

In the event that the number of applications for any grade exceeds the number of available seats, a random lottery will be held. If a lottery is required the date that the lottery will be processed will be announced and the results posted on the school website. Please note that the lottery is both system generated and random.

Once an applicant has accepted their offered seat at our school, they will receive SIS login information. They will be able to complete some of the registration documents via SIS.  Other documents will need to be printed, signed, and turned in to the school along with hard copies of Proof of Residence, child’s Birth Certificate, and Immunization records.

If an applicant does not have computer or printer access, please contact the school and a registration packet will be provided.
