Getting to Know Us
Downtown Miami Charter School is celebrating its ninth year in the 2011-2012 school year! The school first opened in the fall of 2002 and currently has 650 students. Our school colors are gold and royal blue and our school mascot is the dolphin. Our Downtown Miami Charter School family includes teachers and staff members from many different races and nationalities. You will be kindly greeted and will love the feel of your surroundings. Red Ribbon Week
DMCS celebrated Red Ribbon Week. The activities were based on students making positive choices and being "Drug Free".
Blackout Dance
Students in grades 3-6 participated in the first ever Blackout Dance. Third grade hosted the event in order to raise money for their end of the year festivities.
Hands on Miami Day

Light the Night Leukemia Walk
DMCS students participated in the Light the Night Walk at Bayfront Park in Downtown Miami. Students walked 3 miles to raise money for leukemia and lymphoma. The mission of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society is to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
Susan G. Koman Breast Cancer Awareness Walk
DMCS students in the community service club participated in the Susan G. Koman Breast Cancer Awareness Walk. More than 750 survivors took part in the 5K race-walk, marching in an opening ceremony at Bayfront Park, in Downtown Miami.
